The Department of History has been active in the college, since its foundation year when the college was sanctioned on 18th October 1996. Initially, the college was under the University of North Bengal but later it is amalgamated with Cooch Behar Panchanan Barma University, Cooch Behar with few alterations in the syllabus. The department has had an Honours facility since its initial phase and has been continuing under the new university. So far, the department has produced meritorious students for continuing further higher studies. Currently, the Department has 5 (five) teachers; Two Assistant Professors, Three SACTs (State Aided College Teachers).
